Another year but not simply another Brag Party. The amazing coordinators of Grace Institute for Women hosted once again with my "Mentor in My Head," Peggy Klaus, at the helm teaching us all why proper and unapologetic bragging is not only good but encouraged when it comes to getting what we deserve in Corporate America.

Each year I have walked away feeling connected to a new set of women and learning more about myself. I was blessed to have a wonderful partner, Cheryl, who was beyond amazing. From a beautiful personality and contagious joyous laugh, she was wonderful. Cheering her own was an honor.

Brag Parties are AWESOME! I was fortunate to have Amelia Massiah tap me to participate with the Grace Institute for Women in mentoring women entering the workforce or looking to improve their positions. During this event I also met Peggy Klaus (author of BRAG! The Art of Tooting Your Own Horn Without Blowing It), now my "Mentor in My Head," who taught us all how to be firm, confident, and unapologetic when it comes to bragging about our roles in Corporate America.

Learning how to own our skills, knowledge, and abilities was an awakening experience and I will forever be grateful. As I went to the Brag Party event hosted by Grace Institute for Women hoping to inspire and help others, they in fact did the same and more for me.

Not only am I eager to put into practice all that I have learned, but I also am eager to share this newfound knowledge with others and hopefully return next year to help again. I recommend getting to know Grace Institute for Women and the great things they do for the community. This organization goes above and beyond and I am proud to have been part of this experience.

Through the years I worked with Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival & Lecture Series I was trusted with the task to organize all volunteers for the Annual Film Festival and ensure that guests were welcomed and escorted to where events were being conducted.

This experience allowed me to witness how excited Indie filmmakers felt as they watched all their hard work result into a special screening to the New York community in the heart of downtown Brooklyn. Working with various…
